Love Works

March 30, 2011

Dear Love Works Volunteers,

If you were able to join us for the Sunday night Celebration Service you heard me say, "God uses small things to do big stuff." One of the "small things" or "drops" was you, the Love Works volunteers. The Love Works weekend was an incredible success because you stepped out in faith and joined a project. On behalf of the Love Works core team we want to say, Thank You!

I hope you feel encouraged this week, knowing that you were used by God to be the hands and feet of Jesus. That took courage, faith, servant leadership, and prayer.

There are a few things we'd like you to prayerfully consider. First, we'd like you to consider leading a project next year. We anticipate needing to double the number of projects for 2012. Second, we would covet your prayers as we put together the necessary infrastructure and plans to make Love Works more than a weekend event. Our hope and desire is that Love Works would be a lifestyle, led by the Holy Spirit, in the lives of everyone who calls CPC their church home.

Again, thank you for loving God and loving your neighbor. Thank you for putting your drop in the ocean.
"I never look at the masses as my responsibility. I look at the individual. I can love only one person at a time. I can feed only one person at a time.Just one, one, one. You get closer to Christ by coming closer to each other. As Jesus said, "Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do to me." So you begin...I begin. I picked up one person-maybe if I didn't pick up that one person I wouldn't have picked up 42,000. The whole work is only a drop in the ocean. But, if I didn't put the drop in, the ocean would be one drop less. Same thing for you, same thing in your family, same thing in the church where you go...just begin..one,one,one." -Mother Theresa
