Jim and Gail Williams
Jim and Gail Williams have been associated with the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association for 39 years, and have been supported by CPC for the last 27 years.
Jim is Vice President in charge of all the Spanish-speaking ministries of the team which include: managing Palau’s evangelistic festivals in the Spanish-speaking countries, two daily radio programs, TV specials, pastor’s conferences, and an extensive literature ministry. He and his wife work out of the corporate office in Portland, Oregon.
Presently, in an effort to stem the tide of mysticism in Latin American churches and provoke a return to the Bible as authority, Jim is heading a team of 37 to translate the New Living Translation Bible into Spanish. The challenge of this six-year translation project is to produce a dynamic translation that will target 120 million in current idioms, yet remain faithful to the text. Gail has the role of systematizing the manuscripts and their styling, assuring faithfulness to the English text, and preparing the manuscripts for printing.
Jim has also authored 4 books in Spanish: Am I Prepared for Spiritual Warfare? Is Your Church a Cult?, Bitterness: Most Contagious of All Sins, and My Husband Is Not a Christian, What Do I Do?.
Jim and Gail, involved in several other ministries throughout Latin America and the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, express the same desire as the apostle Paul: “I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.” (1 Corinthians 9:22b, 23 NLT)
