Worship is a core value of CPC
It is the privilege and the duty of all who have met God to worship and adore Him. Proper worship engages both our mind and our heart, and it cultivates a balanced sense of awe and intimacy in our approach to God. Our worship style should be culturally relevant while remaining theologically pure. We worship God in our midst by uniting in worship weekly and by cultivating a love relationship with Him daily.
What exactly is worship?
We are taught in God’s word that the greatest command given to us is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” –Matt 22:37
True and acceptable worship starts with a single word: “surrender.” As we go about our everyday lives, we worship the one true God by submitting to His will. Our desire is to see people mature in their walk with Jesus Christ as they engage in worship on Sunday and as they learn to worship in every aspect of their daily lives. When we gather together to sing praise and worship corporately, we are doing several things:
- We are growing in our relationship with Him
- We are recognizing Him as the creator of the universe
- We are fulfilling our purpose as we are designed to worship Him
- We are declaring that it is only through Jesus Christ that we are saved
Worship Style
We love to worship God with upbeat, cutting edge and culturally relevant music. The style of music we play on Sunday morning is similar to what you would hear around you here in the SF Bay Area. For some examples of our style click here.
Worship Bands
We have several forming worship bands that help lead Sunday morning worship at CPC and more. Bands usually consist of a drummer, bass player, keyboard player, electric guitar player, percussion, and several vocalists. On occasion, we invite orchestral players, horn ensembles or other types of musicians to join us on a Sunday morning.
Our goal is to have a variety of worship bands that each have their own unique sound. Some will write original music, some will record worship albums and others will be mobilized for Vision 2010. All will work together in “doing what they do” with excellence and authenticity.

Vocalists and Vocal Ensembles
There are so many talented singers out there who have a heart for God and a desire to lead people in worship. Typically, vocalists rotate singing on Sunday mornings; however, we are also auditioning vocalists to be a part of several vocal ensembles. Those with choral experience are strongly encouraged to audition. If you want to audition for a vocal ensemble, go here.
About the Worship Pastor
Jerome Madigan has been writing, recording and performing music for over 13 years. He is a Bay Area native and is excited to be ministering here on the Peninsula. He spent 8 years traveling, writing and recording with the Christian rock band Nifty Tom 50.
